Simple Pricing
Effective June, 2020, our new pricing structure will go into effect:
I have experienced reduced overall volume, a very sporadic workload, and increased costs due to the market response to and demands of government recommended COVID-19 measures and general fears of the virus itself.
The purpose of limiting the services offered while broadening the overall scope of our services is to level out the sporadic nature of our volume and better control overhead costs per call. This should translate to a continuation of the affordable pricing I have offered for over 20 years and, frankly, make my business model more recession resistant.
PLUMBING SERVICE PRICES consist of a base fee of $69 for the trip and overhead, plus material over $10, a flat-rate charge per task (approx. $130 per hr for plumbing, $75 per hour for home specialty work), plus NC sales tax where applicable. If we come out to install a standard toilet that is supplied by the customer and no additional modification of the plumbing is needed, the pricing works as:
- $69 Base fee.
$97.50 for the basic installation of a standard toilet (45 min. task fee). The supply tube and wax ring are less than $10, so there is no additional charge for material. - Total job price $166.50 PLUS TAX (6.75% in Union County, 7.25% in Mecklenburg)
- A second toilet would work like: $69 Base Fee + $97.50 Toilet 1 + $97.50 Toilet 2 = Job Price $264.00 + $19.14 (Meck County) sales tax, which brings the total to $283.14. So the base fee is only applied once per visit.
HOME SPECIALTY PRICING is on a flat rate basis and determined by the specific task being performed, but is calculated at a lower hourly labor and overhead rate than plumbing.
For instance, if we are installing a toilet for the above price, to replace a doorbell button would be an additional $25 task fee plus the cost of the button.
If all you need is a doorbell button, the Base Fee would be $69 and most basic doorbell buttons and labor would be included.
